How to Clean Your Flat Iron
Filed under: Hair Styles Author: Lori
Cleaning your flat iron doesn’t have to be difficult. With a few moments and the right solution, or even something as simple as alcohol swabs or rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab you can easily get the look that you want in your hair, that can be attained by using a healthy flat iron.
Why is it is important to clean the flat iron? It is important to clean the flat iron to reduce the amount of build up that can occur on the flat iron, itself. This build up comes from the natural oils that are present within the hair as well as coming from the products that are added into the hair. Once this buildup becomes evident on the flat iron it can affect the performance of the flat iron and even increase the time that you need to leave the iron in contact with the hair. Increasing this time can cause the hair to become over exposed to the heat and leave the hair vulnerable to damage and should therefore be avoided.
Cleaning the flat iron should take place while the iron is off and unplugged and can take as little as five minutes. It should be completed every three to six months to ensure that the flat iron is maintained to the best possible condition.
