How to Create Sections for Haircuts
Filed under: Hair Styles Author: Lori
Hairstyles help to define who people are as individuals. A bad haircut can make anyone feel less attractive than they need to feel. When getting a haircut, creating the sections is as important as the haircut itself as the sections are what create the haircut into either a success or failure.
Before the actual cutting, a good hairstylist will take into account for sectioning four important factors; facial features and shape, hairlines, hair growth patterns (e.g. cow licks or widow peaks) and hair quality, quantity and texture. The facial features and shape are important to look at as a good haircut should emphasize the most attractive features while diminishing the least attractive features of the client.
If the hair is brittle and/or damaged more care is needed. If the density of the hair is too thin, gels and mousses are required. The different textures of hair are fine, medium/normal, and thick/coarse. Deciding on what hairstyle is desired, the texture is an important factor. The texture also decides what size of strands is needed for the sections, for example, thicker hair requires thinner sections.
Section the hair for cutting is an important aspect of haircuts and care should be taken to ensure the best cut for the client.
