Micro Braiding for Kids
Filed under: Hair Styles Author: Lori
Kids hairstyles are often the same styles seen over and over again – but with the introduction of popular braiding techniques in the hair – you don’t have to have the same styles as every other child in the class again. With the many styles of braids and the multiple methods that can be used to weave the braids in the hair, there are many styles that can be created for children.
What should you keep in mind before creating the popular micro braided hairstyles in children’s hair? While creating braided hairstyles in children’s hair, parent might be tempted to keep the hairstyles in for months at a time, but this should be avoided. Braided styles, especially small micro braided hairstyles can cause the hair to suffer from dryness and therefore become easily broken and damaged. For this reason, deep conditioning treatments should be used on the braids in the hair and you should ensure that you are able to remove the braids at least every four to six weeks to ensure that you are going to provide the hair with the rest that is needed from the micro braids.
Micro braids are a great choice for the parent and child that seem to be constantly battling with one another to comb, brush and even condition the hair. Through the braids, the styling time is reduced to nothing and the child is simple able to wake up and go when it comes to the hair. Through the many styling techniques that can be used, the hair can be woven into many styles that are off of the face, as well!

You would not normally be braiding micro braids on children. some micro braids take about 3 days to make. No child will sit for this long. They can barely handle 3 hours talk more of 3 days. Micro braids are for adults – mostly women who know how to handle micro braids and the risk involved. You would not also put micro braids on chemically processed hair as it leads to damage – traction alopecia. For more information, please contact me.
