  • Styling Hair

Do’s

Don’t style your hair when they are wet That’s when your hair is at its weakest and most vulnerable. Wet hair can stretch, causing breakage or damage to the cuticle. Gentle hair care means drying your hair with a towel before blow-drying, but blot — don’t rub.

Don’ts

Avoid using chemical enriched products to style your hair. In case you are using iron straightener or curler make sure you have applied heat resistant. Also avoid brushing or combing hair when very wet.

  • Shampooing

Do’s

Our stylist suggests to wash your hair on a regular basis. A clean scalp promotes a healthy scalp, which creates the best environment for hair growth. Shampoo anywhere from once a day to three times a week, depending on what your hair needs.

Don’ts

DON’T go more than three days without cleansing your hair. You’ll have excessive oil buildup on your scalp, which clogs the follicle and can cause issues like flaking, itching and redness, not to mention hair that seems impossible to style.

DON’T use too much shampoo or conditioner, heavy chemicals present in these products will deplete natural keratin of your hair leaving it frizzy and dry.

  • Eating habits

Do’s

It’s important to keep your scalp healthy. There are several natural ingredients that will boost the hair strength, smoothness and growth. Each hair strand is composed of keratin which is a protein, to nourish your hair add protein enriched eggs, peas, green vegetables, citrus fruits, Omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin C & D.

Don’ts

Do avoid fatty foods. If you suffer from greasy hair it could be a side effect of a diet rich in fat and spicy dishes. And cross strong tea and coffee off your list too – both contain stimulants that increase activity of the sebaceous glands.

  • Brushing

Do’s

It’s very important to choose the right type of brush or comb that suits your hair type and texture. Our expert stylist recommends, If your hair is straight or wavy, consider a paddle brush. Your hair is more fragile—and prone to breakage—when it’s wet, so make sure you have rinse out all the excess water before running your comb.

Don’ts

Don’t use metal brushes and comb. They have very little “give”, which leads to damaged hair cuticles.

Don’t over-brush your hair if you want it to stay looking cleaner for longer – brushing spreads sebum down the length of the hair, making it appear greasy.

  • Hair Drying

Do’s

Do allow your hair to dry naturally as often as possible. Use a highly absorbent towel to mop up excess moisture then finger dry.

Don’ts

Avoid overheating and over drying your hair, This will actually cause the hair shaft to expand and the outer layers to curl up, giving your hair a frizzy look.
